Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how Attalu (“Attalu”, “we”, “us” or “our”), a company based in Israel, collects, uses and protects personal data when you visit attalu.com (the “Website”), reserve a handle, join our waitlist or subscribe to our updates. Attalu is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. It applies to the Website and our pre-launch waitlist only. When the Attalu product becomes available, we will publish additional terms for it. You are not required by law to give us any personal data. Without your email address, however, we cannot reserve a handle for you or contact you about access.

Information we collect

Information you give us. When you reserve a handle and join the waitlist, we collect:

your handle (the @name you reserve);
your full name and email address;
where you work (independent, company, studio or agency, or studying);
your role and how you heard about us;
that you agreed to our Terms of Use and this Privacy Policy.

If you email us, we also keep the content of your message and your contact details. Information collected automatically. When you visit the Website, we and our hosting provider collect basic technical information, such as your IP address, approximate location derived from it, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring page and timestamps. We use this to keep the Website working and secure and to understand how it is used. We do not use advertising cookies or sell your data to advertisers.

Cookies and analytics

With your consent, we use Google Analytics, a service provided by Google, to understand how visitors find and use the Website, for example which pages are viewed, how visitors arrived and whether they joined the waitlist. Google Analytics sets cookies on your device and processes your IP address, browser and device information and approximate location on our behalf. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not allow Google to use this data for ad personalization. Google Analytics only runs if you click “Accept” in our cookie banner. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set. We also store your choice in your browser so we do not ask again. You can change your choice at any time in cookie settings. Analytics data about your visits is kept for up to 14 months after your last visit, and is then deleted automatically.

How we use your information

We use your information to:

reserve your handle and manage your place on the waitlist;
decide the order in which we open access, and invite you when it is your turn;
send you product updates and our newsletter, including new essays, announcements and news about Attalu;
respond to your messages and requests;
understand who is interested in Attalu, so we can decide what to build first;
keep the Website secure and prevent abuse, such as fraudulent or impersonating handles;
comply with our legal obligations.

Updates and newsletter. By joining the waitlist, you agree to receive emails from us about Attalu. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. Opting out of the newsletter does not remove your handle or your place on the waitlist; you can ask us to delete those separately (see “Your rights and choices” below). Aggregated information. We may combine waitlist answers into statistics that do not identify any individual, for example the share of signups from designers or from companies, and share them with investors, partners or the public.

Legal bases. Where laws such as the EU or UK GDPR apply, we process your data on these bases: your consent for updates and the newsletter, which you can withdraw at any time; steps you asked us to take for reserving your handle and managing the waitlist; our legitimate interests in running, securing and improving the Website and planning our product; and legal obligations where they apply. Who we share it with. We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:

service providers that host the Website, store waitlist data, send emails and provide analytics (Google Analytics, if you consent), acting on our instructions and under confidentiality obligations;
professional advisers, such as lawyers and accountants, where needed;
authorities, when required by law or to protect our rights, users or the public;
a buyer, investor or successor, as part of a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, subject to confidentiality.

Investors may see aggregated waitlist statistics as described above, but not your individual details unless needed for due diligence under a confidentiality agreement.

Retention, security and transfers

Retention. We keep waitlist data for as long as the waitlist and our pre-launch program run, and for up to 24 months afterwards unless you become a user or ask us to delete it. If you unsubscribe, we keep your email address on a suppression list so we do not contact you again. Security. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including access controls and encryption in transit. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur. If one affects your data, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as the law requires. International transfers. Attalu is based in Israel, and our service providers may process data in Israel, the United States, the European Union or other countries. The European Commission recognizes Israel as providing adequate protection for personal data. For other transfers, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, including under Israel’s Protection of Privacy Law and the EU and UK GDPR, you may have the right to:

access the personal data we hold about you and receive a copy;
correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete;
delete your data, including your handle and waitlist entry;
object to or restrict certain processing, including direct marketing at any time;
receive your data in a portable format;
withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing that already took place;
complain to a data protection authority, such as the Israel Privacy Protection Authority or the authority in your country.

To exercise any of these rights, email support@attalu.com. We may ask you to verify your identity first, and we will respond within the time the law requires. Requests are free unless they are clearly unfounded or excessive. To stop receiving updates and the newsletter, use the unsubscribe link in any email.

Children, changes and contact

Children. The Website and waitlist are intended for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If you believe a minor has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it. Changes to this policy. We may update this policy as Attalu grows, for example when the product launches. We will post the new version here with its date and, if the changes are significant, tell you by email before they take effect.
